How to plant venus fly traps?

do they really HAVE TO have in a green house lid thing?

and can they grow in plain sand?

  1. just plant it in your garden like any other plant you would normally plant.


  2. You don't have to have a greenhouse lid for a Venus flytrap.  This is to help keep humidity high, and contrary to what most people think, Venus Fly Traps don't need really high humidity.  I live in Colorado and the humidity here is routinely in the 20% to 30% range and my plants thrive.

    They can grow in plain sand, but it must be very clean sand.  The easiest thing to plant them in is pure Peat Moss.  Most growers use a combination of Peat Moss and Perlite.  You can read more about how to plant a Venus Fly Trap here:
