TYPES OF USA BLACKJACK

There are two variations of USA blackjack that are played in US casinos. There is Spanish 21, which is owned by a Colorado gaming publishing company. This form of the game is also known as Spanish Blackjack (although this is the unlicensed version of the game). The other variation of USA blackjack is called 21st century blackjack and it is otherwise known as "Vegas style" blackjack. It is, in fact, commonly found in US gambling rooms in California.

Spanish 21 is a more liberal variation of USA blackjack. Players can double down any number of cards in their hand after splitting Aces. (Some US casinos no longer allow this option.) It is possible to rescue or surrender a bet to the house after doubling. This is known as "double down rescue" and means that the player will forfeit an amount equivalent to his initial wager.

Spanish 21 provides payout bonus for hands that reach 21 with five or more cards. It pays out 3:2 for a five-card 21, 2:1 for a six-card 21 and 3:1 for a seven-card or more 21. (Bonuses are not paid, however, if the player doubled.) It also pays out a bonus payment of 3:2 for 6-7-8 21s and 7-7-7 of mixed suit 21s and 2:1 for those combinations with the same suits. These combinations in spades, pays out 3:1. The biggest bonus payout occurs if a player holds a 7-7-7 and the dealer has a 7 face-up in his cards. This pays $1000 for a $5-$24 bet and $5000 for a $25 or more bet. Other players also win a $50 bonus in this scenario, which is named an "envy bonus."

Player blackjacks or 21s always win in Spanish 21. That is, if a player has blackjack and the dealer also has blackjack, the player wins. All cards with a face value of 10 are removed from the pack (although Jacks, Queens and Kings are left in it). Therefore, Spanish 21 is played a 48-card deck.

The biggest difference of 21st century blackjack in US casinos is that while a player aims for 21, if he goes over, he is not automatically bust. The origins of the game are very interesting. California law prohibited the playing of the game "21", which was ruled to be the game of blackjack, as played in Las Vegas, USA casinos. Therefore, the game of 21st century no-bust blackjack was created, which is just different enough to traditional blackjack to be legal. If a player goes bust, he can push if the dealer goes bust as well, if the dealer busts with a higher total card value than the player.

In this variation of USA blackjack, jokers are used as wild cards – they have any value that the player needs to reach the total of 21. In 21st century blackjack, the house has a 0.6% edge over the players. US casinos that offer 21st century blackjack (typically card rooms found in California) charge a collection fee per hand played. This generally works out to 1% of the total money played.

You win at Blackjack when your cards are higher than the dealers cards. You do not need to reach 21 to win. There are many sites with game rules, I suggest you visit one and learn how the game is played.

closest to 21, with out busting, wins, go over 21 you bust, you lose.

21 = automatic win (blackjack), unless the dealer hits 21 also, then its a chop.

aces count as either 11, or 1, its up to you.

if you have an ace and a 6, and decide to hit it again at going for 21, and get a face card (which is 10), you don't bust, because your ace becomes a 1, so you have 17, and not 27.

in movie 21, the players count cards, which is against the casino rules, and very hard to do, and I doubt you will learn how to count cards, it takes a lot of practice, and you have to be a mathematical genius

the goal is to get as close to 21 by adding up ur cards without going over. ur ace can ethier b counted as a eleven or a simple one depending on what u need in ur hand.face cards r all counted as 10. and if u get a face card and a ace u automatically win that is considered a black jack.

The object of the game of blackjack is to beat the dealer, against what most peopel beleive the concept of getting 21 is not always the goal fo the game.

You can beat the dealer by  

-being closer to 21 thatn the dealer is at the end of the hand

-remaining in the game if the dealer breaks at the end

-being dealt a blackjack which unless the dealer also has  a blackjack is an automatic win

You are dealt cards and have the option to draw more if you wish, if you draw cards and the sum of the point values for all cards exceeds 21, you automatically lose.  You may have thew option to perform special actions like

-doubling down where you can double your bet in the middle of the hand, but only receive one more card, you also MUST take that one card

-splitting, where if you have two cards fo the same value, you can seprate them to be the first card of two new and seperate hands, you must place an addition wager equal to your original bet to perform this action though.

-surrendering, surrendering is where you elect to abandon your hand befoe the dealer draws his cards and receive half of your bet back.

After you have drawn or not drawn cards as you decide, the dealer will then draw cards bases on a fixed set fo rules, tytpically the hosue will draw cards untill it has 17 or higher then draw no more, if the dealer goes over 21, everybody that is still in the game automatically wins.

In the movie 21, blackjack was played with an advantage by counting cards, trackign shuffles and keying aces, these tactics take a lot of time, practice, and experience to master and you will not be able to goto a casinos and win money as they did without investing months of your time learnign them, it can be done though, and it can be very lucritive.

In the mean time if you wish to play blackjack you shoudl learn what is know as basic playing strategy and just go from there, this will reduce the hosue edge to the point where it may likely be the best bet in the whole casino.  You cna learn basic playing strategy  here: http://www.hitorstand.net
