How to play D&D?

Question

I am interested in learning to play Dungeons and Dragons, but before I invest money into a starter set or anything I was wondering if anyone knew a web site that explains the rules and the way the game is played, correctly, just so I can see if It would be a game that I would like to play and invest in. So i don't blow my money and have it turn out that it isn't the type of game for me.

This game is almost impossible to learn by yourself. You need to find some people who already play, and see if you can join their group.

I was given a D&D game some years back, and I never understood it until I was introduced by some experienced players.

That said, it is an awesome game.

I started playing D&D since 1977 and still do a little as the D.M.   I'm 41 now, and it has always been a fun way to spend sometime.  I prefer the 2nd edition to the new stuff, but it is all fun.  Just enjoy!!!!!

Visit the D&D website; the link I have below takes you to a Q&A section about basic questions and more importantly has a link to a D&D interactive demo where you will be able to actually play a really basic session of D&D that lets you understand what's going on.  VERY user friendly.

im sure there are countless websites telling you how to play, just type in D&D on google, also many games are based on D&D including world of warcraft also you should find at l;east 2 or 3 others who want to play it with u before you get started
