How to play Handheld Monopoly Game?

I have a 1997 electronic Monopoly game. When I put new batteries in it, all I see is a hat and a shoe. I pressed reset and it's on and working, but I can't play. What button do I press to start playing? Does it make noise? Someone help.

Press the 'new' button

It should reset and say would you like to play a game of monopoly and show the had, dog, shoe, and car.

On the back of the game is the list of player names to assign to each player piece. or you can press th go button and it will set up a game automatically.
