  1. go to a guitar store and buy a tablature book of your favorite band's music. all tab books i have ever bought have a section in the beginning that show you how to read the music (and it is quite simple). they also explain how to perform techniques in the book such as hammer ons, pull offs, bends, etc... they are usually around 20 bucks and well worth it. good luck.

  2. look around on youtube for guitar lesson videos thats how i learned. i would start out by learning basic chords nad chord progressions on youtunbe

  3. I will recommend a book by Roger Evans with the title:

How To Play The Guitar - Everything You Need To Know To

Play The Guitar - cost $10.95

This litle book (124 pages) will help you decide which is the right guitar for you - How to choose and buy your guitar - How to tune it - with notes and tunes to play - starting to play chords - starting to read music - and many more basic but very need-to-know information for the beginner guitar player.

Every musician that I know and comes to visit at my home tell

me that this book is a wonderful first-book for every one starting out in guitar. What else can I tell you?

Check with your local book store, most of them have it and

if out they can order it for you.

Good Luck and Enjoy the Guitar

  4. well, the best solution would obviously be to find a music teacher. i take my guitar lessons at The Music School and in my opinion it's a very good way to learn guitar. I put in the link below. Hope this helps!

  5. if ther'es anyone you know that goes to your school or that you know through other people that plays guitar, and would be willing to give up a half an hour or so for a few weeks, ask them to sit with you and teach you the basics of playing and reading music. if that doesn't work for you, i would suggest going to a music teacher who would really know what they are doing. the downside is, if you don't have an actual guitar to play and practice with, it will be rather expensive to rent one [yes, you can do that]

but i wish you the best, guitar is really a fun instrument to play and electric guitar sounds amazing :]
