Well, you may have to buy the rulebook and Necron codex.

Fifth Edition is being released at the end of June, so it's a perfect time to get into the game.  The main rulebook is £30; or you can get the introductory boxed set (which includes two small armies [Space Marines and Orks], all the rules and a handful of terrain and counters, as well as dice, measuring rods and templates.  This is £50 - and a real bargain it is, too.

However, if you just can't wait, look for a local wargaming club or GW Hobby Centre as there's bound to be someone there who'll teach you the basics.  You could also join an online community, such as http://www.warseer.com, where new players and veterans alike can discuss rules and ideas as well as share pictures of their models and terrain.
