How to play xbox360 sound through stereo instead of tv?

just connect the yellow red and white cords in the stero and on the sterio it sould say something like game, and you press that and itll work (well thats how it is with mine)

It's all about getting the right cable.  I use the HD/Composite cable which has an optical out (which goes to my amp), but you can also use the red and white RCA connectors to connect to most stereos

Just connect the audio cables to your stereo instead of the TV, the red and white cables, as the yellow is for visual and that needs to be plugged into the TV.
