Question:

How to plug in a Bayonet Heater?

I have just moved into a house with a bayonet fitting for the gas heater and have no idea how to plug it into the wall socket. At the moment we are relying on an oil heater to keep us warm so if I could get step by step instructions or even a website with pics also that would be great.

  2. Hopefully your gas heater has the 'male' bayonet fitting on it, and the wall socket is the 'female' fitting.

http://www.aquaknect.com.au/endfittings_... has some pictures of what they look like.

So long as this is whats on your hose, you just line up the fittings, push them together, and twist them to lock it in. They are designed to be tight, so it won't just slip in easily.

The male fitting on the hose has small grooves, and the female fitting has corresponding lugs to lock together, the picture shows these quite well, thats what you need to line up.

If your heater doesn't have that fitting on the hose, its tie to see a plumber or gasfitter to get it converted.
