Hey, I have a turn table that I want to use. I have been able to plug it directly into my TV but the volume is very low and I must turn the TV volume up to the max to hear it. How do I plug up my turntable to like a practice amp or something else that will project the sound at it's full capability?

  1. plug into aux on your stereo listen to it that way.

  2. A turntable, as you have discovered, offers a non-amplified signal.  Your TV will act as an amplifier, but the signal strength from a turntable is pretty low, and most receivers have a specific input for turntables.

The two things I would recommend are: (1) turn up the volume on your TV to compensate for the low output from the turntable; or (2) if you have an amplifier, you should be able to get the plugs to connect it to the amp from an electronics store (Radio Shack is the best bet if you live in the U.S.).  I am unsure which connections you will need because I am unsure of your amp connections and your turntable connections.

    Hope that helps

  3. You need a pre-amp for the turntable.  It's the easiest answer and you should be able to get one without breaking the bank.
