Question:

How to point a url to a yahoo web group?

the web url for a webgroup are so long that they become unusable, so I want to get a short url domain, and point this to a webgroup,

example of what I hope to do,

ubcagents.com to point to http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/pfanntastic/

how would one go about this and make it work, thanks for your feedback

  1. What I do with the yahoo group link if it shows up like the example you gave is I just cut out that other part and send the link in the way it will look like this: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/groupname

    The other thing you can do is thru your e-mail program.  Like in Yahoo Mail for example go to Color and Graphics and in that section it has an icon for setting up a website.  The icon will either show a globe as the icon or a chain link to represent a website.  When you click on that type in the name of the group and the link in the next box.  Then hit enter.

    It will then show up the group name with an underline and also in blue to indicate that this is a website (also sometimes called a hyperlink).  You can also do this in some IM programs if its set up that way if you are giving the link to a friend that wants to check it out (giving an example).
