  1. Your daughter probably will not be able to go to a public school due to her not being potty trained... the big thing about succeeding in it is being consistent... and honestly it does not matter about how a child's behavior is on whether or not they succeed in potty training- potty training has to be incorporated into a "routine" and followed.....

  2. I saw on the Today show "the potty whisper" she had some good ideas. I bet the segment is on youtube

  3. The day after my daughter's 2nd birthday we started potty training, we gave her a quarter to feed her pig everytime she peed in the potty and a dollar everytime she pooped in the potty.  At the end of every week if she didn't have an accident we went out for pizza to celebrate.  She was trained within a week!!

  4. Did you try to just putting her in regular underwear?  I would think that she wouldn't like getting all wet when she pees that this would motivate her enough to go on a potty.  A 5 year old should understand the concept of feeling when she has to go.  Make sure you stick with it even if it takes time.

  5. I'm still trying to potty train my 3 year old son.  What I do is tell him to go on the toilet and if he deosn't then I won't put his pants on and he'll have to go everywhere naked.  He doesn't like that so he usually goes.

    Good luck to you!

  6. This is more common than you think.  Usually there is 1 child in each kindergarten that is not potty trained.  It seems that if a child goes passed the initial readiness of potty training untrained then it is significantly harder when potty training later.  Try a behavior modification specialist.  For my oldest he just decided at 3 and a half.  My middle, he began disrobing at 32 months.  We couldn't keep a diaper or pull up on him, so I bought the underwear and toileted him every 2 hours with lots of praise.  We only spent 30 seconds on the toilet.  At first we gave him a lot of praise for just sitting, then only when he goes, when he misses we don't say anything.  He then got it within a few days.  He is dry and in underwear at nap and nighttime after 2 weeks.  He however still poops on the floor (of the bathroom).  He now requests to go (he is 33 months) except for the BM which he does on his own then comes to get me.
