How to power 12v DC?

Question

I have some items which need to be powered by a 12v DC current. They have simple Black / Red wires. What can I use to power these? (Preferably Battery if possible)

you might want to go to somewhere like maplins (link attached).

they sell variable power supplies that can power most things.

watch you dont over do it with the ampage tho!

8 x 1.5v batteries wired in series or a 12v dc kiddie-ride battery. Check your current though and make sure it doesn't exceed the ampage of your battery. What's it for anyway?
