How to practice high jump?

I've run track for the past two years and both i've tried to do high jump. i haven't gotten good enough to compete but i think that if i practiced over the summer i could get there. the problem is that i need something i could use as the high jump standard (the thing that holds the bar that you jump over). I looked at real ones online and the cheapest ones i could find were $300, and that's way too much money for just practicing over the summer! i thought of using tripiods but i haven't been able to find any that are right. if you have any suggestions of things i can use or where i can find tripods that are tall, adjustable, and inexpensive PLEASE let me know!

  1. Maybe you could use some PVC pipes? They're made of plastic, and probably woudn't hurt if you hit them.
