Question:

How to practice poker?

Hi, I have been playing poker on and off for probably near 2 years now! I'm only 16 but I have played for play money a fair bit on sites such as partypoker.com etc. I also have began to watch it on tele too, I just love it.

So what ways should I practice playing poker?

Do the professionals use partypoker or fulltiltpoker (or any online poker rooms) to practice?

Extra: What is the best poker room around online? Thanks

    givs practise videos and articles.

  2. I've recently found a very good online poker game. Its not the best by far and you only compete against the computer but it is very enjoyable. Check it out!

  3. You can practice at tilt or other poker room that supports play money. YOu can read some poker reviews at http://www.bettingwise.com/fulltiltpoker...

Practice at the play money tables, the real poker pros dont play there, they use the real money tables, but you will meet good players there for sure.

  4. There are many poker rooms out there on the net and I have sent you a link that lists several of them in order from best to worse as voted by users of wheretobet.com

  5. A) Iv been playing poker for years and like you I love it, although you will struggle to set up an account with a real money site such as full tilt, so do my trick and get your dad to use his bank account but give him the cash every time he transfers money from his bank account to the site, if your father isn’t around anyone who trusts you should let you. Just make sure u keep track of your winnings to claim back off them. Theirs no feeling like winning a hand in a casino and Nottingham has a great one, pay £50 at the door, get as many drinks as you like and a card with your 50 on it. It’s a brilliant night and it’s open to all hours. If I was you I wouldn’t use the sites become its not the same, suggest it to your mates and get the lads round on a Friday night and chill with a few brueskis (beers) and a few pound coins, as you get older up the stakes and see what happens, good look.

  6. There are a multitude of poker sites that actually teach you. These sites have tests and other bonuses.

Playing with play money is strongly not advised the game is not the same at all.

    Try an on-line pokerschool. http://www.pokerstrategy.com/uLXXGF

this one will let you learn all forms of poker or just the one you want. I started with NL holdem but have since progressed to small tourneys . its up to you. but this is a great resource for learning any form of poker you want. trust me you'll like it. I have watched the videos used the forum, and most importantly profited from this resource.

When i started it was with Titan. It has a option to turn on a hand strength.(you'll never throw away another good hand cause you were too green to see it) Also on any site that supports it use the 4 color deck.

    I hope this helps.

but really the play money games are NOT the same as real money games. use the site, read, learn, practice, review, practice, PROFIT!

  11. I have played for a while as play money player on luckyace. I loved it, it is by far one of the best designs available and table layout. I am playing now on real money. Practicing as play money player is best, as you get to play against real people from all over the world. This is the best way to learn and improve your skills.. You could check this poker room here:

    http://www.igamingbook.com/2008/01/17/lu...

when you'll be old enough you will also be able to deposit de play for real.

    have fun

  12. Practice only really comes from playing a lot. I'm a professional on Full Tilt, but there are professionals on every site.

The best poker room depends if you are in america or not, i think Pokerstars and Full tilt, get the highest traffic, but i've heard cake is the softest. However, cake poker doesn't have the traffic these sites do, so any limit above a $400 buyin rarely spreads.

Also if you are looking to really improve without playing, i'd recommend a training site like cardrunners or deuecescracked. Personally, Cardrunners is what i use but i've heard great things about DC as well. Watching really good players play and think is a way to supercharge your poker learning experience. They do cost a monthly fee, but in my experience, they pay for themselves over and over again.
