  1. Moles = Molarity x Volume ( in Liters)

    moles = 2 x 0.250 L = 0.500

    Molar mass NaCl = 58.453 g/mol

    Mass = moles x molar mass = 0.500 mol x 58.453 g/mol =29.2 g

  2. Dr. A has given a good answer. An alternative way is to have molarity

    = mmoles/mL   ...so 2 mmoles /mL = 2 M sooo

    1 mmole of NaCl = 0.0585 grams so 2 M = 0.117 grams /mL x 250 mL = 29.25 grams /250 mL = 2 M

    Check

    29.25grams/250 mL = 117 grams/liter = 2 X 58.5 grams/liter = 2M
