How to prepare a poster for a (psychology) conference?

A simple question, that I'm too embarrassed to ask my colleagues. So this is my first conference where I'm doing a poster board. The poster board is 40 x 60 and it's for Psychology. My friend gave me a power point template but if I decide to print out the slide and put them on a poster board should it be on the type of poster board that folds up? or is that too high school ish?

Does anyone now the price of printing the poster board?

I usually see those on the tri-fold poster board types, not highschoolish as long as you make it look well done and professional and your work is of a good quality.
