I haven't ridden my dirtbike very long. Some day I want to race. Right now I am working on getting in physical shape and ride several times a week. How can I make sure I will be fast and good on the track? What should I do?

  1. i agree with him but sometimes crashing means you are raising the bar and your going faster but dont take it to far. like at one point i was just crashing in every turn, i just kept sliding out but i kept on the gas and now i can go alot faster then i could.

  2. Practice, practice, and even more practice! The more track time you get, the better you'll become. Learn from the more experienced rider, and do what they do. See what body motion they put in, and out of corners and jumps. See what they do over the whoop section.

Don't go faster than how fast you know you can go, because you will more than likely wreck, and get hurt. Then you may be out for even longer. So don't go over your limits.

It's great that you're working on getting in shape, and be sure to eat right. Your nutrition matters if you want to be a really fast rider on the track, and be sure to drink lots of water! Especially the day before the race, or even riding period.

If you get arm pump, work it out. Rest, and do as many laps as you can while you have it too. One of my friends gave me a suggestion of tieing two dumbbells on each end of a rope, and then twisting one of the dumbbells to bring the other to the bottom of the one you're holding. It helps with arm pump and I would recommend it.

Fitness is key though, if you're not fit, then you can't do as many laps so keep preparing to ride hard, and start to race.

I hope I helped, have fun!

  3. Just practice, practice and practice. Action more important than theory.Just try it!
