Question:

How to prepare my Arab gelding for endurance racing?

I've been wanting to get into endurance racing for as long as I can remember, and recently purchased an Arabian gelding who I'd like to begin with. How do I go about conditioning him? I've taken him on 2 hour trail rides and he is full of energy all the way through and is actually in fair condition already. If anyone has like a sample exercise routine (maybe a weekly Mon-Sun type of schedule) that would be great! I have hilly trails, fields, and gravel roads to work with. Thanks!

  1. Well first look up the site for endurance Ridding

I am sure there are trainers there that can help you ,,

Just remember its not about going fast ,

He has to be fit and so do you,

You have to learn the heart rates and how to cool him down,

Many many rules you have to learn ,,

  2. one hour work outs in early morning and late evening for 30 days

    top condition for endurance/stamina/speed

  3. I also have an Arab gelding ( aren't they the best?)  If you have a hill go up and down it for at least thirty minutes a day...great exercise! Do you have any water? Trotting through a pond or river is great, too.
