My whole life I've wanted to see ice skating. I am planning on taking my son to see a show like "Stars on Ice" or "Disney on Ice" when he's old enough. Just a couple of questions, how cold is it? I need advice as to how to dress, and what age do you think is old enough to go for a kid? Mine is 21 months. I don't want him to get sick, and since I've never gone have no idea. I appreciate any information you can give me. I am really getting excited now.

  1. a jacket and some teddy bears to throw to the stars after the show during the final bow.

  2. Well, go with a jacket, obviously it depends on the rink, you could go to the rink several days before the show=) that would be the best option, you should protect well your kids because they are small, i think 2 or 3 years its OK, you can ask him if he can talk =) you should just wear a jacket and protect your children with a jacket and maybe a scarf or gloves. go to the rink and youll see=) you could also bring your child to the rink and see how he feels=)

  3. I took my kids to Disney on Ice when my youngest child was 4, they had a great time and it wasn't very cold although a jacket may be nice.

  4. To really get the full experience, try to get a front row seat.  If you do, it will be cold so I would just wear a warm jacket.  Also, at such a young age I think you should go to Disney On Ice because the kids can relate to the stories.  Overall, all you will really need to wear is a jacket.

  5. Well, if you are going to a big show like Stars on Ice, chances are the rink will be heated somewhat. If I were you, I would bring a light jacket and some mittens or gloves for yourself and a blanket for the little one, but just a small one because the seating can get tight. If you go to a more local show plan on bringing blankets to sit on and a hat and gloves and a thicker jacket for both you and your son. I think your child should be older, unless he is really mature. (i.e: quiet knows how to listen can sit still etc) Also I reccomend Disney on Ice for the younger crowd because more than likely your son is not interested in who can do a better triple toe triple lutz!! . But don't worry I am sure everything will work out.!! Oh, and I dont think he would get sick it is not that cold in big shows because they  have to heat it. But if you are worried, just dress him warmer.. But I want to tell you one thing that you need to remember for ice shows. You lose 30% of your body heat throguh your head so ALWAYS WEAR HAT.. or earmuffs. Thanks HAVE FUN AND ENJOY!!!!!

  6. At ice shows, it's usually not that cold even though there's ice.  You'd be fine in pants and a sweater or bring a jacket/sweatshirt just in case.  Your son would probably enjoy Disney On Ice more than Stars On Ice at his young age.  Disney shows are designed for kids and to be entertaining for the whole family.  Stars is more for a little older crowd with performances to display skating for people who enjoy skating and current favorite skaters.  Disney On Ice tells more of a story with characters and songs your son is probably familiar with, including lights and bright colors.  If your son will sit through a regular Disney movie at his age, he'd probaby be just fine with the skating show -- and all his favorite characters would be right there for him to see.  Have fun!  :)

  7. im sorry i cant help on the temperature point. but taking your son to "stars on ice" and 'disney on ice' is a GREAT idea. i went to 'disney on ice' when i was in about first grade or so and i LOVED it. I am now a competative figure skater and i go to see 'stars on ice' almost every year. I LOVE it. another one that i enjoy is 'Champions on Ice' its my favorite one! it is a bit more expensive but it is the skaters that are currently doing olympic level stuff--they are the ones that appeared in the last olympics and probably will again as opposed to 'stars on Ice' which is skaters that went pro after the Olympics. Also along with the regular skating, they have a woman that hula hoops with a TON of hoops while skating and couple men who like step on each other and sit on boxes while the other carries them--IN SKATES! they are hysterical and VERY fun to watch. Have Fun!
