How to preserve aloe roots?

I have huge plants that I have cut at the roots to transplant.are there any ways to preserve additional roots?

  1. Aloe is very hardy. As for "preserving" the extra roots, put them in a container of potting soil, water occasionally, and you should have more aloe growing shortly.


  2. you can not preserve them- either re plant them or throw them away

I'm not sure what you mean by "preserve additional roots", however aloe sends out new roots easily so you don't need to be concerned about what may have been cut off.When a single plant gets too large and starts to fall over you can break off the top,pull off an inch or two of the lower leaves, and plant the bare stem in soil. No rooting hormone is required.It will soon root and you'll see new leaves forming at the top.
