  1. Keep it in a cool, dry, dark place....I've kept them as decorations for MONTHS this way...A pumpkin is a pretty non-perishable, long-lasting gourd anyway....


  2. Yes, like the others said, keep it in a cool dark place. You might want to think about planting them a little later next year. That way you can harvest a week or two before you are ready to carve. Don't forget the pumpkin pudding. Good luck.

  3. We used to wait until Hallowe'en Eve befoe carving our pumpkin, and then the next morning, I cooked the pieces so I could get the pulp off the thick skin. Froze the pulp in small amounts to be added to muffins and cakes later in the winter.

    "Way back in my great-grandmother's time, pumpkins would be stored in a root cellar, or some cool place, where they would keep for several months. Of course, some always went rotten and had to be removed.
