How to prevent Windows Movie Maker from freezing?

Ahh I'm going insane with Windows movie maker! I can't finish a video cause it freezes up after every, like, 4 clicks, and I know it's a common problem.

Any way to prevent/fix it?

I have this problem as well, and it seems that when I delete some of my Collections videos, I gain some time before it freezes on me again.  So, that's my answer:  try deleting some of your collections files; maybe Windows Movie Maker has a maximum file size that it accepts (like Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere), but when it gets close to that limit, it doesn't tell you.

Yeah, I had the same problem. I just deleted the icon off of the desktop because it was slowing the computer down. Maybe if you try finding it in My Computer or My Documents it'll work?
