How to prevent clothes from getting the "old look"?

after i wash a shirt too much, the fabric get old and develops little dots on it

can i get rid of the by ironing or steaming the shirt? or how can i prevent it?

I typically use Woolite, and my clothes look good for about 3 years.  They have Woolite for dark colors, bright colors, and whites. Try it!

First always wash whites with whites and colors with colors i even wash my jeans by them selves. also my really good clothes i dry hanging in a dark place like in the bathroom on the shower curtain rod. The dryer does fade clothes.

don't wash them with towels. maybe that's how you get the dots. and don't leave them in a dryer for too long because they get old looking.

and hand wash the clothes that needs to be handwash.

ALSO, use cold water. that may help
