  1. I always double sock it- in no time you'll build up a lovely set of calluses... i really need to get a pedicure...FYI- if you wear metal s***w in type boots, you may want to consider a pretty hefty insole and/ or training in molded cleats or sneakers once your boots are broken in.  metal studs are great for games but they are soo bad for long term wear and tear on your tootsies and heels.  I've also used a product called Body Glide... it comes in a deoderant style stick- its expensive- like $12 US and you rub it wherever you would get a blister ... feet/ heels/ toes-also works on chaffed areas.

  2. This might sound mad, but there are gel pads meant for women who get burning soles when they wear high heels...try them either wrapped round the achilles area of your ankle under your socks or actually under your foot to stop stud blisters!

  3. Wear comfortable boots,  with todays footwear technology you shouldnt be getting blisters with good fitting boots.

  4. Don't train :P

  5. buy socks that aren't cotton. moisture and friction are what causes blisters...

non-cotton socks are designed to move sweat (moisture) away from your foot preventing blisters.

also...if you do happen to get a blister (this is going to sound crazy, but as i play hockey and rugby and have gotten blisters from skates and boots, you'll have to take my word for it) put some gauze on the blister...prewrap it on. then put duct tape over it. be careful not to get the duct tape on your skin...that hurts. since duct tape is shiny and slick, things don't rub against it, creating an awesome barrier so you can still play while your blister heals.

  6. See that your BOOTS have been PROPERLY BROKEN IN, before the season STARTS!

  7. You can toughen your feet by soaking them with tannic acid, 10 percent tannic acid to (obviously) 90 water...

also marathon runners can use STRONG TEA to soak their feet to get same results....

here's a site for getting the results you require...

  8. i always wear a really tight pair of thin socks, then a looser pair of socks over them, then my boots, what that does is cause the friction that would give you a blister to rub between the socks and not rub your foot.

there is a hiking sock out there called a thousand mile sock, it is the same as the idea above but the small and large socks are stiched together and they are expensive.. this will work.

  9. During the pre season when the ground is rock hard I train in Astro turf trainers. You get enough grip with out having to have studs and blisters. Also when I buy a new pair of boots I wear them round the house for a few weeks before I get them dirty to break them in. Oh and use plenty of dubbing on them to soften the leather.

  10. Wearing thick socks
