How to prevent injury in this particular muscle?

i am a runner, and i am having pain in gastrocnemis. what are the best ways to make the pain go away. And any injury prevention techniques??

  1. Well I always run and some times you just need to take a break for a week. The body needs rest after constant exercising(for a month or so) even if it is every second day. When you start runing after that little break you gave your self you will feel great. If you want to push your self tho, I would just fully stretch, walk for 7 min then start runing. When you are sitting the next day and that mussel is soar put ice or heat on it for at least half hour.


  2. Make sure to stretch all ur muscles before u begin to run.

  3. Icy hot and icing works the best!
