How to prevent playdough from cracking ?

My daughter is making a model out of playdough for a science

project. However, the model starts developing cracks after

a few hours. How can I prevent playdough from hardening and

cracking up ?

  1. store it in airtight containers such as plastic bowls with lids.


  2. well she should probably switch to model majic by crayola. this product allows it to dry with out cracks. The playdoh will crack no matter what is done. To prolong it though maybe wrap the project in plastic wrap or place in a plastic bag. But this will probably not really help it .

  3. The best way of preventing playdough from cracking up would be by covering it with something (e.g cling wrap)...

  5. You might try wrapping it with a wet paper towel or five, gently, and putting a shopping bag over it.
