How to promote a cabaret show in nyc?

hi everybody, i'm having a cabaret show in november in one of the cabaret theatres in nyc. they have like 70-75 seatings. that's my fist show and i don't realy have a lot of friends, so not many people know me. so my question is how can i bring more people to my show. i've been told that i need to announce it on my myspace page and make flyers and put it in different cabaret theatres in nyc. but maybe somebody knows another way that will help me to bring more people? thanks
