How to promote my invention?

Question

Wow! I have new invention that will bring great business, I can make prototype with small cost...

Think about the patent law, it will take long long time and lots of money waste.

Can I just make a 3D animation, the product website... send to pupular science magazine, youtube, flickr.... to gain exposure?

How to contact investor about my invention?

What is your suggestion? Any website or article link? TV media or ???

You should have a lawyer answer this question.

And yes, it will cost money.

First, write down and draw your invention on paper. Include spacing for signatures including spacing for dating on very sheet.  If more then one sheet, then there should be the notation "1 of # page"  Dated mm/dd/ yy.

Second, Make several copies and have each copy witness. by two or more people.  But, not more than four.

Third, Make the prototype.  And a video of the invention working.  Include you  operating it.

There is a government pamphlet available which you can get from the patent office.

At this point, money is require, and yes, there are investors which will back you.  And here you may need a patent attorney for several steps next steps.  

You will need a patent search, contracts, and legal review of all oral agreements as they are written.  A good patent attorney can guide you as to media coverage and additional protection you may need including possible investors
