How to pronounce "simplus"?

Question

Hi. I'm trying to find out the correct pronunciation for the word "simplus" which is actually latin for the word "simple". Is it pronounced with a short "u" (e.g. in simplas) or with a long one (e.g. simploos)? Anybody out there confident with their latin? Thanks a lot.
