My husband bought a new Samsung HDTV LCD tv 1080p. He has 4 separate items to hook up to it. 1)VCR no HDMI connection. 2) DVD player no HDMI connection 3) Comcast digital cable box (I think it might have HDMI connection) 4) VCR/DVD Recorder no HDMI connection. He has told me they need to wired a specific way otherwise I can't for example transfer our wedding video to dvd. Is it possible to hook up all these items especially if they are older (within 5 years)? Does anyone know how to do this?

  1. 1) Cable the VCR to the Samsung with a composite video cable since that is what resolution VCR's are recorded at.

    2) Cable the DVD to the TV with a composite video cable.

    3) Connect the Comcast HD box to the TV via a HDMI cable.

    4) Connect the the VCR/DVD recorder to the comcast cable box via a coxial cable to record non-HD channels. Use coax or a component video/audio cable to the TV for playback.
