  2. Get some surgical gloves. I always use them when I am working with chilies. It is hard to wash off chili heat once it is in your skin and anything you touch will be affected. You can try to soak it off with olive oil, as capsaicin (the hot element in chilies) is oil soluble and not water soluble.  

  3. I agree with you, Sandy - but any accidental pepper contact can be soothed by milk, eg when one's beloved leaves a whole chill in the curry and you find it...............

  4. I just use a gallon sized ziploc bags turned inside out when I'm picking my peppers. When I'm preparing them well I just make sure not to touch my face before I've thoroughly scrubbed my hands.
