How to protect myself, employment question.?

I just took a job doing some retail audit work for a company that is not in the same province as I am.. we have spoken on the phone and through e-mail. Everything seems legit.. I've searched the company on the BBB website and they are in good standing. Is there anything else I should be doing? How do I make sure I am going to get paid after I do the work?

Do you have a contract you could get them to sign?  Also you might include incremental payments.  Good luck!
