following so many cases of tapes on obscene acts in hotels being filmed secretly, it leads me to think whether there are tried-and-tested ways to detect hidden cameras in the room? since hidden cameras can be pinhole-sized, what clues can i look out for when searching for one?

  1. u cannot find cameras that easily

if u think u r been followed or something get a room in a hotel but secretly register another room thru the fone.

  2. When you enter a hotel room - first shut the window shades snug, so nobody can photograph you from across the street. Then take out your screwdriver and disassemble the heater if there is one. Check behind the grills carefully. Take the shades off the lamps and check there. Unmount and disassemble the ceiling fans. The cameras could be looking at you through the little ventilation holes there. Take apart the TV, it has a lot of places to hide the camera. Behind the speaker, or even where the crt tube is. Make sure to locate and disassemble every electrical outlet. They are perfect places to put hidden microphones. The coffee maker could be a major threat. Just put it outside the room. If there are any pictures or paintings, dismount them from frames, and check in cracks between frame and picture and frame joints. Mirrors - that's a different story. You have to check every one of them for being two sided. You can press your finger against it and see if reflection meets the actual finger. But this test is inconclusive. So you much better off taking them off. The ones that are in medicine cabinets are easier to have access to, but you will also need to remove any wall or ceiling mirrors.

It also pays to remove cover of the toilet flush tank, unscrew the shower head and all water faucets, even dig dip into the toilet (there are perverts who mount water proof cameras right inside!!!).

Finally take a magnifying glass and inspect every inch of wallpaper or painging. If you see any tiniest hole, that could be where the lens is picking at you from, so take a 1/2" drill bit and drill it out to make sure!

Oh, and just to be on the safe side - don't do anything fancy in the room! If you must bring a girl over, do it in your car parked in remote location!!!

Alternatively - leave your paranoia at home and enjoy your hotel stay! No reasonable hotel will allow any recording equipment without your consent. Otherwise - sue the guts out of them, and get paid for that little movie like no Hollywood actor dreams to get paid for theirs! One should be enough for your immediate retirement!

    LEM.
