Obviously, putting a copy of windows '95 on a computer, isn't that smart, but a part of me have always wanted to try it out. And Obviously, the whole program will not fit on a single floppy.

Hi, I have a windows '95 computer with windows 2000 Professional on it. I recently downloaded a copy of windows '95, for some reason, and I want to put Windows '95 on it. So I got a copy of Magic ISO, and tried to put it on a floppy, but the program will not put it in ISO format. I have tried to extract it to the floppy, but the computer will not boot of of it. How do I do this, or are there any recommended programs out there for floppy?

Thank you.

Eric

  1. You need to burn the ISO file to a cd, not extract it.  You will then need to install a bootable floppy disc by formatting it in windows and choosing to make it bootable.  You will then need to format your C:\ partition and then launch setup.exe through the designated drive letter.  All of your partitions need to be formated to FAT32.

  2. It is not worth trying. It can only use a 2GB disk, which will fill up in no time under current conditions. You will need a serial number for it. These are no longer available, and from a pirate version will never have been  obtainable anywhere. It will not run on an ntfs file system, you would need to partition off part of your drive for it as FAT or FAT 32 (older versions can not use FAT32). You would also need to load this to the machine first on an empty system (no 2000 loaded), then install 2000 to be able to dual boot between the 2. Its' internet explorer will not view most current sites correctly, and there are no longer any updates for it. No current software including browsers like Firefox will run on it.
