OK, I just got my ipod Touch today and I want to start putting movies right on to it. I have loads of files of ripped DVDs on my external hard drive and I'd love to know how to get them on to the ipod. I looked at various software and freeware options but I really don't know how to use them.

  1. Congrats on getting your iPod :)

    A) If you have your ripped DVD files already in MP4 format, then first connect the ipod to your computer. Click on File-->Sync in iTunes to sync your ipod with itunes and then you can simply transfer the video to your iPod touch.

    B) In case, those ripped files are in avi, wmv, vob or any other format but not MP4, you need to convert those files in MP4 format using a converter and then transfer the files to iPod via iTunes.

Important : please note that during conversion process, you'll end up loosing some quality of the video since first you converted the file into another format and then to MP4 format. If you still have those DVDs with you, I would suggest you to go for a direct DVD to MP4 converter and Cucusoft Ultimate DVD Converter is the king when it comes to ripping DVD to any format.

I would suggest you to download its trial version first, don't buy it yet. In rare cases, what works for me might not work for you and It is always a good idea to try the trial version first. Cucusoft Ultimate DVD Converter trial version is fully funtional, just except a watermark on the video. To remove that watermark, you gotta purchase the software.

You can download its free trial version from http://www.dvd-tutorials.com/cucusoft-ul...

Use its trial version for a day and check its quality and features. I'm sure you would like it. Then you can purchase it by clicking on Upgrade-->Order Now in the software itself.
