How to put multiple phone points/sockets in my home ?

Iv got a wireless router downstairs were the only phone socket is but i my wireless devises upstairs (eg xbox ,laptop) most of the time. Even though its wireless and the internets pretty fast i would still like it to be upstairs.

(i have sky broadband if this helps)

1.  Find where your phone service enters the residence.  Once you find that wire, you can cut and splice in a new set of wires to where your want it upstairs.  Once you cut the wires, add the new wires by splicing all of the same colors back together (original cut wires and new wires).

2.  Run a new wire from the exisitng phone jack downstairs, to where you want the new jack upstairs.  Wire the new wires right to the back of the existing jack and then add the new jack upstairs.
