i have a kenwood KFC-W3011 12" sub in a bandpass box. i want to add a little style to the box by putting some blue neon's or led's into the inside of the box. now i looked at the store and all of the neon's hooked up to a cig. lighter. so here is the problem.....I DON'T WANT A WIRE FROM MY TRUNK TO MY DASH! now a friend had a cheep pair of duals in a box that have neons that just lit up when the stereo turn's on, the only wires going to this box are the speaker wires. now is there a way for me to do this in my sub box. I read that i could cut the cig plug off of the neon wire, and hook the positive up to my amps remote turn on, and ground the negative, and i will get the results i am looking for is this true? HELP!

  1. use the power wire for your amp and make sure they are on for the music sensitive setting so they go off when your car does.

as u see i put that blue led light from walmart  u dont have to connect it to the cigert thing just cut it and get the positve wire and the negative wire and hook them up to the subwoofer if u need more help e mail me   mustang-35@hotmail.com

  3. drill to small holes in the box for power and ground run the power to ur remote on amp and ground to ground on amp when amp powers on so will lights when u shut the car of the lights turn off

  4. if you run the power from your speaker wire it will give it a pulsating look

  5. It's true. You can do this.

But, you run the risk of s******g up the head unit. The remote line is only made to give a power on signal to the amp. It's not made to power anything.

To do it right follow these instructions. http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page5.as...
