How to put text on a picture?

I have a picture with words on it, and i need to take the words off, and replace them with other text. but i need the same background?

how can i do this and can i do it in paint?

you need a program that works in layers.

like adobe or corel program.

you might be able to pull something off in paint, but

it doesn't work in layers, so good luck,

It would be too difficult and arduous to do it on Paint. I recommend GIMP: http://www.gimp.org
