How to put videos in iphoto???

i've got a jvc camcorder and when i plug it in only shows the pictures, not videos. help!!!!!!!!!

  1. Doesn't mac have a program ivideo or imovie, check there. iphoto is just for photos.


  2. iPhoto is for stills.

    iMovieHD is for video.

    You did not tell us which JVC camcorder - but I will guess it is miniDV tape based. You need to buy a 4-pin (camcorder DV port) to 6-pin (Macintosh firewire 400 port) firewire cable. All Macs made in the last 10 years or so have a firewire400 port - the only exception is the new MacBook Air - no firewire port).

    With the camcorder plugged into AC and the firewire cable connecting the camcorder's DV port to the Mac's firewire400 port, and the camcorder in "Play" or "VCR" mode, launch iMovie... and "Import" the video.
