I want to start working on weekends and I was wondering how do I obtain a workers permit?

I am 14, living in California. What kind of jobs can I do?

Finally, what is the current minimum wage in California?

Thank you!

  1. I'm not sure exactly how to get a worker's permit, but I'm 14 and looking for a job myself, and so far Chick-Fil-A and Cold Stone Creamery hire 14-year-olds. I don't know of you have those in California. And the minimum wage in California is $8. Of course, if you aren't able to get a "real" job, you could always try baby/dogsitting, dog walking, snow shoveling, leaf raking, etc. I have been babysitting for quite a while now and make pretty good money. It's really hard to find places that hire at 14, so you'll just have to be patient and keep trying! Good luck!
