How to "edit" pics...?

ok, how do people "edit" their pics? i know this is dumb, but im serious

I know they use photoshop, but how do you use it? do you download it or what? Are there other ways to edit pictures. please help

Photoshop is not a free software.

In order to get the full version of photoshop, you have to pay for it.

However, you can always get the Free Trial version on web which will expire in 90 days.
