  1. you want to cut off over a minute in a week... pretty much impossible unless you've been holding back all this time.

  2. You need to train.  Try running as fast as you can.

  3. Increase your cadence i.e number of steps per minute.

Ideally should be at between 180 - 200 steps per minute.

  4. dont take off like a rocket at the start or you will tire quickly, find a good speed where you are not too slow but not sprinting

    and one more thing...

wash your hands after the toilet!

  5. sorry to say this, but i thinks its IMPOSSIBLE. i can barely run a mile in 6:32 and it took a long time to reach that......

  6. Train more, run long slow distances around 3 miles to build your endurance; do this almost every day.  Occasionally, maybe 2 times a week, do 400m (one time around the track) sprints or the equivalent to build speed.  With the combination of your increased speed and endurance you should reach your goal but probably not in just a week.  Within a week you could probabaly knock off around 30-45 seconds, but you must be consistent and work hard in your training.

  7. Well, in a month I went from 7:28 to 5:22, but I'm a sprinting all-star and I held back the first time. You should just work yourself, get a watch, and, let's say you're running on a 400m track, go for 1:25 on each lap, and you'll end up with about 6 minutes.

  8. Not to be a downer, but there is no way you're going to shave 1 minute and 20 seconds off of your mile time in one week.

    Good luck.

  9. You will not drop that much time this quickly, it takes years of training and practice...  Sorry....

  10. thats kinda high goal for you, considering you just ran a 7:20, aim for a more realistic goal, like trying to dip up the 7 minute mark.

i ran a 5:50 mile as a freshman, and as a current sophomore i run a 5:22 so, 6:00 is completely attainable. trust me, in eighth grade i ran a 7:30 mile and in one year i dropped down to a 5:50, but i think dropping that much time is a little too much for one week.

run your heart out, and maybe you can dip under  7 minutes which would be awesome for you!!!! whatever you do , just COMPETE and run your race, be competitive and go for the win, dont calculate paces as you go, just ran as fast as you can and WIN!!!!

    it works for me :)

  11. You will have to fly.

  12. Eric has the best point one minute and twenty seconds is darn near impossible but push your self as hard as you can

  13. i would recommend running on a treadmill and train your feet and legs more

  14. I have been running for 8 years now and would recommend the following:

I would strengthen the core: calves, quads, hams, back and abdominal (the "six pack" muscles along with the obleks), chest and arms. But when strengthening these muscles, I would focus more on the muscle endurance not the muscle bulk. For more advice for this, I would consult with a personal trainer. For the running part, I would stay flexible as it helps/contributes to your balance (so do the muscles in your core) but also helps prevent some injuries like pulled muscles and shin splints. Also, I would try to make up a schedule where you can run for X amount of days and try to have a long run. I would start off slowly, running about 2-3 miles per run for the first week and increase my mileage per week. Make sure you have the following: a good diet, hydration, sleep, a good sense on how to take care of your body, and sleep. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Good Luck!!!

  15. pretend your being chased by a blood sucking monster.

  16. Go faster.
