How to re-register a car that sat for 4 years?

I currently bought a car that has no papers, it runs okay (i fixed the problem now). I called and check the holds on the car and dmv tells me the cost is $420, I dont know how to go about it in such a way, i pay the smallest amount of money.

In Arkansas, If you have a bill of sale, all you would have to do is file for lost title and go from there. Title fees start at $5.

check with your dmv for this type of filing and see if they will do it.

You don't say what state you reside in so it's hard to help. In Florida if you bought a car with no title you would not be able to register it. So I hope you don't live here, good luck.
