you can catch a direct bus to managlore run by APSRTC which goes through this holy city or near by kumta.or you need to travel to bangalore and catch KSRTC night bus to reach gokarna.

Gokarna has a rail link to Margao, but most of the trains do not stop here. Nearest major railway station is Ankola (20 km away). Search for trains to Ankola from Hyderabad on http://www.irctc.co.in
