How to reach chennai egmore from chennai central railway station & how much time is needed?

Hi,

From Chennai Central, it will take 15-20 minutes to reach Chennai Egmore station. You can go by auto, taxi or Bus. If you come out from Chennai Central station, you can get the pre-paid auto stand in the right hand side. There you can pay the amount and get the auto easily. If you have more Luggages, better come out through west side entrance, near the Moore market complex (its anneux building of Chennai Central Railway station) and you can get call-taxies.

If Auto means, the fare might be 40-50 Rs.

If you get Call-Taxi the fare might be 100 - 120  Rs.

The Travel time  should be 20-30 minutes in day time and 15 minutes in night time.

It's just 15/20 minutes from Central to Egmore. You could try using the auto rickshaws, it should not cost more than 50 rs (if not less). Go for the prepaid auto's.

Take an auto from central station. Egmore station is hardly 15 minutes away. Better to take prepaid auto because  the auto drivers will fleece you , really fleece you especially if they sense that you are a newcomer to the city. Prepaid auto booth is available near the central station and the auto fare from central to other locations are fixed and displayed . The meter in the auto is hardly ever used and you can get into an unhealthy argument if you try and force the autodriver to use the meter.

There are bus services too, but not reliable .
