How to reach kullu or manali from kanpur by train? what is the nearest railway station.?

we are palning to go in the last week of the june 08. how days are required to rome around kullu and manali. if possible simla. we are planning to stay there for 3 complete days.. and what are the best palces to visit at that time?? thaks in advance

to go to shimla..best is to go to chandigarh from delhi and from chandigarh you have narrow gauge train to shimla..its 125km from there..but toy train takes alot of time so in order to save your time you can take a bus. There is very good connectivity.

From shimla to manali its overnight journey via mandi and quiet good bus service from HP Roadways.

If you want to go directly to manali first then also nearest railway station is chandigarh. From there catch some bus to manali.

You can stay in manali and 4 days are good enough to see the place. Manikaran, hadimba temple,rohtank pass and couple of places in manali are worth a watch. Kullu is not that famous, its good only in the days of dusherra otherwise its just another small town.

All in all..4-5 days are enough to see kullu-manali..
