How to reach pune from bombay?

hi,

i am suppose to go to hotel sun and sand at Bund garden Road Pune. Please let me know how can i reach thr ... my flight from delhi will be landing mumbai at 8:15 Am. I am new to bombay and pune .. so tell me in detail how and from where to reach where... also it would be helpful if you can provide me the cost also.

You will land at Santacruz domestic airport at 8.15 am. Get a taxi from airport for Pune. It will travel through express highway to Pune. Ask the taxiwala to drop you at Sun and Sand at Bund Garden.

By 8 15 all the mumbai pune trains leave.you can catch volvo bus service from Dadar and it takes only 3 hrs to reach pune and bund garden is very near to the bus stand.if you are going to be in mumbai till evening you can take pragati express at 4.35 pm and deccan queen at 5 10 pm from CST.

As given by all other members, you have a lot of options for travelling from mumbai to pune. But, considering you are new to pune / mumbai, I think, You should take following route.

After you land to Mumbai Airport, Take taxi for dadar TT, ask the fellow to drop you at cool cab location for pune.(AC taxi run butween mumbai & pune on regular basis - fare @ Rs.-350-400)

Take cool cab for pune. He can drop you directly at Hotel Sun-n-Sand.

Otherwise, there is AC bus service (volvo) near Dadar TT. You can board one of those buses and get down at engineering collage, Pune. Then again, you will have to take AutoRickshaw for Hotel Sun-n-Sand. Actually, the distance from engineering collage to the Hotel is hardly 2-3 km, but there will be very few Autowalas interested in coming for such a short distance. So, if you are ready to spend Rs.50-100 for such a short distance, then you will be able to get an Auto.

BTW, have you tried for direct delhi - pune flight. If you get that, you can come out of Pune airport, go to prepaid auto-rickshaw stand just outside the airport, and go the hotel directly.

By taxi

The Mumbai-Pune taxi service runs between Dadar Circle and Pune railway station. Taxis take about 4.5 hours to cover the distance. They seat four  to five which can be a little uncomfortable. You can book the entire taxi or pay for two seats, if you would like a more comfortable ride. The taxis run round-the-clock. The fare for the ride is to be paid at the starting point and costs Rs 200 per seat. A full taxi costs Rs. 1,000 .

By Bus

Across the road from the Mumbai-Pune taxi stand is the terminus for the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's Dadar-Pune bus service, popularly known as the Asiad Bus Service. Buses leave for Pune every fifteen minutes between 5 a.m. and well past midnight. The last bus often leaves at 2:30 a.m. A ride costs Rs. 90. The fare is Rs 140 for the air-conditioned bus. The buses most often take the old highway (not by pass) and you can request the driver to allow you to get off at almost any point after Pimpri-Chinchwad. The buses terminate at Pune Railway Station.

You can also board any of the buses operated by private companies. These leave from all over Mumbai and cost between Rs 70 and Rs 180 depending on type of service, time of year and day. Check timings from the operators. These buses terminate at either Pune Railway Station, Kothrud, Swargate or Shivajinagar.

You can take either a train from Chatrapathi Shivaji Terminus (Earlier Victoria Terminus (VT station)) to Pune Railway Station or a bus from Dadar bus stand, from where air-conditioned Volvo buses leave every half an hour, take three and a half hours and cost about Rs. 240 one-way.
