  1. depends on the goal.

2 hours start to finish if your long term goal is to order an xtra large pizza to be delivered and eat the whole thing.  this assumes that it's not friday or saturday night (as deliveries then can take over an hour sometimes), your stomach can handle eating that much (and you're not drinking beer or something else that fills you up) and how quickly you eat.

5 years(ish) if your goal is to find someone to marry and have a kid.  that assumes that you start dating the person and that person wants to marry in a reasonable amount of time... not a wishy washy person that leaves you at the alter more than once.  also, you and the other person would have to be totally fertile OR be willing to go abroad for an adoption and even that depends on the country and how much money you have.  you also have to assume that nothing weird happens in the womb, like an 11 month pregnancy or something.

10 years if you want to start a business and have it running self sufficiently, but that assumes that you have a business idea that's not total c**p and you get it off the ground in a reasonable amount of time and you hire people that don't suck and all of that.

Now.. if your long term goal is to invent time travel, then here, we're talking potentially NEGATIVE years... I know, that sounds nuts, but say you start working on your time travel machine now but you don't finish it until you're like 80 or something and too old to really enjoy it.  So, you travel BACK in time and give yourself the plans RIGHT NOW... or even a year ago.  If you got the plans a year ago and you worked really hard you could potentially build the thing in 6 months.  Then your long term goal took decades, but you actually reached the goal  6 months ago.

    Whoa.

  2. WOW! long term goals are a hared thing to work for. the reason for thins is this it's not somthing tthat is going to be coming up soon so people might put it aside in their  mind. what i have found that works best is to try and make it into parts so that you can feel the rewards sooner and feel better faster. also i reminds you that your working for something. every time you think why am i doing this your reminded.

  3. Make sure your goal is realistic and then set short term goals in steps to reach your long term goal Best of Luck
