  1. ophthalmologist  is your best bet they are medical doctors and have more knowledge.

  2. first of all thanks for your ginous question because no body really want to know what is that mean

about minus that mean myopia (farsightedness)

when we say 6 meter or 20 feet that is the infinty of optical vision

we make this number in the top of fruction that mean the (patient) see letters in 6 meter length but the normal people see the same letter in 60 or 36 or what ever (the buttom of the fruction)

about 6/60 there is worse than that

  3. That measurement is just your visual acuity , which gives a good indication that you need a correction.

6/36 means that at 6 meters, you can only see what a normal eye can see at 36 meters

6/60 means that at 6 meters, you can only see what a normal eye can see at 60 meters.

Why do you think 6/60  is as bad as it can get ?...it could be much worse than that yet.

With glasses / contacts, they should normally have you right back up to 6/6

  4. this sounds like you were possibly reading on a card for near vision, were you??

I would not rely on what the school said, go to your dr. and have a real eye exam.
