How to read the dwell on a distributer?

Connect the red lead on the dwell meter to the positive pole on the coil and ground the black lead. Run engine. Adjust points gap to get proper dwell reading.

Pay someone that knows what they are doing to do it. you will need an older mechanic as most of the younger ones don't even know what dwell is. mostly a bottle will suffice
